Katakus is a non-profit organization that promotes the practice of sustainable agriculture with gender perspective among subsistence farming communities in Region XI for the improvement of their food security and livelihood and the enhancement of the environment. Katakus envisions a society where women and men decide and act collectively in building empowered communities and in working for the sustainability of the environment amidst the pressures of a globalized economy. Some of their goals are to enhance food security through conversion from monoculture to diversified and integrated farming systems and to conserve and sustainably use indigenous resources through the development and innovative use of appropriate technologies. Through each on of their sales they are able to get closer and closer to their goals, and they thank each an every one for their continued support.
