Price: $600.00

This Bactrian Artifact is a Set of 5 Very thick Bronze bracelet. These are covered in light green patina. This piece is dated 2000 BC and its dimensions are 4.5”x1”. Little is really known about the Bactrian empire, only occasional archaeological artifacts, a little bit of writing and some coins are available. French archeologists are the only ones that have done work on excavations of Bactrian artifacts. Historians find remote references in other people’s records about the kingdom. The Old Iranian name of Paktra, known by the classical writers as Bactria and their language was known as Bactrian. It is now known as the area Turkistan in modern Afghanistan. According to some writers, Bactria was the homeland of Indo-European tribes who moved south-west into Iran and into North-Western India around 2500-2000 BCE. Each piece has a unique quality to it that can create a sense of mystery of that time since little is known of this empire.
