Upavim, "Unidos Para Una Vida Mejor" meaning "United for a Better Life" is a craft marketing program which was originally created to help provide funds for a children`s clinic in La Esperanza (near Guatemala City). Because of Upavim, the clinic now offers lab testing, dental care, tuition, and school supplies. It is now a self-sustaining organization that strives to improve the quality of life through education, health care, employment opportunities, and personal development of women. Products include doll necklaces, wreaths, and other products made using handwoven Guatemalan fabrics.
