Mahaguthi, Craft With a Conscience of Nepal, aims at improving the standard of living of micro/small producers, especially deprived women and groups, through economic empowerment. This is done by means of entrepreneurship development, generating employment opportunities, and developing capacities by providing technical, marketing, financial and counseling support. Mahaguthi therefore, plays a vital role in supporting socially and economically disadvantaged of Nepal. Mahaguthi is committed to; provide continuity of care to those it supports at the Tulsi Mehar Mahila Ashram, provide regular employment and support to producers throughout Nepal, encourage the revival of cultural, artistic and craft traditions, uphold fair trade principles encompassing gender focus on women, payment of fair wages, concern for children, appropriate benefits for producers, safe working conditions, protection of the environment and the promotion of long term sustainability, and ensure that the profits generated by sales continue to be channeled back to the producers.
