Fundacion Solidaridad Talleres Artesanales, Chile

The Solidarity Foundation was established in the late 1970`s. It helps to provide support to the families of some of the thousands of political prisoners of the Chilean army. Fundacion works with mostly women's groups representing 480 artisans who, in addition to textiles, produce handcrafts using traditional Chilean raw materials like combarbalite stone, lapis lazuli, and clay.
