Paraguayan pioneering artisan women have perfected the cultivation of a soft high quality loofah fruit in their backyard – free from chemical bleaching and pesticides.  These beautiful handmade products are the result of fifteen pioneering women in a small community in Paraguay. They challenged the role of "mujeres campesinas" (women in the countryside) and started a cooperative that today includes over 300 participating families in the growth and production of organic hand-made loofah products.
