The International Widows Association for south Sudanese Refugees in Uganda (IWASSRU) is a charitable association working with destitute widows and orphans in Sudanese refugee camps in northern Uganda and in the SPLAM controlled areas of Kajokeji south Sudan. It provides parental care, education and medical care to the vulnerable orphans whose parents fell victims of the 21-year conflict in the Sudan. IWASSRU also supports widows in counseling and in activities that are income generating to enable them to reduce the challenges of poverty in their home area.
